Concrete and Pavers

If you are considering replacing or adding a walkway, patio to your outdoor living area

or swimming pool, you may become confused over the large number of choices you

have. It can be confusing sometimes, but you need to look at the details on what to

choose from.

Concrete and Pavers  Installation in Florida

Enhance your outdoors this year by having our team from Fabri-Tech design and

install your very own concrete and pavers for your patio. When it comes to choosing

materials to construct on the following areas such as :

  • Walkways

  • Driveways

  • Patio

  • Lanai

  • Swimming pool

  • Outdoor living area

The benefits of concrete and  pavers outweigh many other options in the landscaping

industry on a number of levels including:

  1. Durability

  2. Affordability

  3. Aesthetics

What is Concrete?

Concrete, an artificial stone-like mass, is the composite material that is created by

mixing binding material (cement or lime) along with the aggregate (sand, gravel,

stone, brick chips) water, admixtures, in specific proportions. The strength and

quality are dependent on the mixing proportions.

Surface Options for Concrete Patio Flooring:

  • Colored Concrete

  • Stamped Concrete

  • Stained Concrete

  • Stenciled Concrete

  • Exposed Aggregate

  • Engraved Concrete

What is Paver?

Pavers are paving stones, tile, brick, or brick-like pieces of concrete commonly

used as exterior flooring or stepping stones. Concrete pavers are made by

pouring a mixture of concrete and some type of coloring agent into a mold of

some shape and allowing it to set. Pavers typically come in one of four materials:

  • Clay

  • Stone

  • Brick

  • Concrete

Pavers can be used in many different ways, however, the most common use

for them is in driveways, pathways, and walkways.

Materials:

As we mentioned above, more often than not, pavers are made out of one of

these materials:

  • Natural Stone

  • Clay

  • Brick

  • Concrete

Benefits of a Concrete and  Paver Patio

  • Creating a viable outdoor space for gatherings is, of course, the end goal,
but choosing something that will last is equally important.
  • Pavers are sturdy, stable, and allow for expansion and contraction.

  • Pavers are easy to maintain, making them a prime choice above concrete

    slabs.

  • Additionally, your investment in using pavers is ultimately just that of an
investment. You will be putting your money into an affordable, patio
enhancement, that will increase your home’s value.

What to expect when your patio installation begins?

Selecting pavers, with the appropriate aesthetics to realize your vision, should

be at the top of your list. But, let’s be aware that there are other important

aspects of planning your paver patio. Here are some key elements we

consider, when installing your paver patio.

  1. Digging – Dig to the proper depth, for installation of your material
    (paver, flagstone, brick, etc.).
  2. Barrier – Create a barrier with landscaping cloth to minimize the

    growth of vegetation and weeds.

  3. Base – Create a flat, level surface by packing down the dirt and using

    a paver base or sand.

  4. Drainage – Handle grading to control the slope of the land, which

    will assist in drainage.

  5. Edging – Create a solid edge around your patio, by using more pavers,

cement, or vinyl edging to keep pavers intact.

  6. Filling – Once pavers are set, fill in the cracks with sand for a finished

look and to deter weeds from growing.

  7. Extra pavers – Make sure to store extra pavers, in the event that a

repair may be needed, or you choose to add on to your patio at a later time.
